Let the Countdown Begin...Enter to Win a Copy of 'The Host'

And the winner is...Johanna! Congrats and thanks to everyone who entered. There will be three more giveaways later this year, so stay tuned.

A year seems like a long to wait for The Host, but fans have already been treated to the movie's first images and trailer. There's a lot one can do over the next twelve months: watch Red Riding Hood (for the 20th time), re-read The Host, or enter The Host Movie Fans' first giveaway!

Up for grabs is a copy of the novel and this particular edition contains a bonus chapter, Q&A with Stephenie Meyer, and annotated playlist. (The other three copies will be given away throughout the year.)

To enter:
1. Comment below and/or follow @HostMovieFans and reply with why you would like a copy of the book.

2. No anonymous entries will be accepted.

3. Each person is allowed two entries (one per method). If you comment AND tweet, your response should be the same for both (can be shortened for twitter).

4 Due to shipping costs, the giveaway is limited to US residents.

5. The last day for entries is Sunday, April 8th. The winner will be posted on Monday, April 9th.

Best of luck!

  6. I would like to win a copy of 'The Host' because it is my favorite book of all time and I don't have a copy with the bonus chapter. My only copy is almost always on loan to friends so that they can experience how great this book is, as well. Thank you for this chance :)

  8. I would love to win a copy because how can you not have enough copies of this amazing book? I have the Kindle version but want one I can carry around and read if I forget my Kindle or if I want to let someone else read it.

  9. I never read a Stephenie Meyer book and have been biased, negatively, towards her because of the Twilight crowd and what I've heard from detractors of her work. I didn't give her a chance and didn't have enough insight to think "maybe she has a book that I may like."

As a fan of Andrew Niccol I was intrigued on why he would take a Stephenie Meyer book and adapt it into a screenplay. I mean, was he running out of ideas and succumbing to desperation? Enter The Host novel. All I can say is "Wow. Not bad. Not bad at all." I can know understand the inspiration of his decision.

If anyone is wondering if it's possible for someone to enjoy anything related to Stephenie Meyer, especially if the dislike/hate is due to a superficial reasoning, it is possible. Although just one statistic, I am proof. Never have I imagined that a book written by Stephenie Meyer would be included on my bookshelf - and proudly displayed.

I will encourage people to see this movie and read the book. Now, if only if I had a spare copy on hand to help me with this task.

  10. I would love to win a copy of The Host because it's one of my favorite books. I have read it 6 times including once in Spanish. I could read this book over and over again, which I am currently for the seventh time! Winning this book would just be the cherry on top, cause I have yet to read the bonus chapter and would love to read the Q&A with Stephenie.

    Thank You :)
