"It's a really grueling thing, being on a movie set every day," she said, going on to explain that she's been pretty much eating, sleeping and breathing "Twilight" for months on end.

But after the requisite discussion of the wedding, the honeymoon, and, of course, that particular scene in which Edward destroys the furniture in a sexual fugue state, MTV News' Josh Horowitz was able to move on to some fresher material—or as Stephenie puts it, "cleanse the palate" of vampire-related chitchat. And the next topic on tap? The upcoming movie adaptation of "The Host"!

And it's already getting exciting, y'all; Stephenie got animated at the mere mention of the new project, saying, "We just cast the boys, and I'm so excited!"

Dude! So are we! Tell us more!

"And Saoirse Ronan," added Stephenie. "So amazing! You just can't take your eyes off of her, she's unbelievable."

And lest any skeptical readers are sitting there thinking that "The Host" couldn't possibly titillate you the way that a vampire-werewolf love triangle has for the past three years, you might want to check out this inside scoop on just how many schmexy sparks flew between stars Saoirse Ronan, Jake Abel and Max Irons during the audition process.

"Wow, the chemistry," Stephenie exclaimed. "With the auditions, it was just really clear. Chemistry isn't something you can manufacture. And Saoirse and Jake, Saoirse and Max..."

Unfortunately, Stephenie kinda trailed off there without giving any more insight into what went on behind the scenes during casting. But that's okay; it just makes us want to know more! And we'll be watching carefully in the weeks post-"Breaking Dawn" to snag any more insider info on just what's happening with Stephenie Meyer's next cinematic project.

Roberto Schaefer Set to Photograph 'The Host'

BAFTA nominee Roberto Schaefer joins The Host  as the production's cinematographer. Schaefer's previous credits include: Monster's Ball, Finding Neverland, Stranger Than Fiction, The Kite Runner, and Quantum of Solace.

As you can see, I thought of Max Irons as more of an O'Shea, but I'm happy to see him in any capacity.

'Red Riding Hood' Star Max Irons Set to Play Jared Howe

The fifth and final Twilight film may be scheduled to release next November, but Stephenie Meyer ain’t done with you yet. Her best-selling 2008 science-fiction novel The Host — her only non-Twilight work to date — is in the process of being turned into a film, so expect to hear plenty of news about it between now and its March 29, 2013 release date. In fact, here’s some right now: The important role of Jared Howe will be played by 26-year-old actor Max Irons, EW has learned.

Irons, son of Oscar-winning and golden-throated actor Jeremy Irons, was last seen in this year’s Red Riding Hood. For this project, he joins director Andrew Niccol (In Time, Gattaca) and the long-attached Saoirse Ronan, who will play Melanie Stryder, a young woman who shares her body with an alien force known as Wanderer. Since no Meyer novel is complete without some complicated relationship geometry, Jake Abel has been cast in the role of Ian, a man who falls in love with Wanderer despite the fact that she is in the body of Melanie who is in love with Jared. Fans of the book, may I suggest you start preparing your visual aids and PowerPoint explanations now.

The film will begin shooting in February in Louisiana and then New Mexico and will mark one of the first productions for Open Road Films, a young distribution company backed by AMC and Regal theater chains.

Stephenie Meyer on Her New Role as a Movie Producer

Stephenie Meyer has been involved in the adaptation of her Twilight saga books to film from the very beginning. But on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2, she has taken on an even bigger role – producer.

“With the first part of the movie coming out, it doesn’t feel like an ending yet. It feels like we’re still going, and I’m not quite sure how it will be when we get to the end,” Meyer said.

Even though the Twilight saga films are based on Meyer’s work, Melissa Rosenberg actually wrote the screenplays for all five films. The two worked hand-in-hand to bring Meyer’s books to the big screen. Meyer even says that there were things Rosenberg added in the scripts that she wished she’d thought of for her books.

“To take on these beloved books was quite intimidating. My objective always was that if Stephenie liked it and if Stephenie believed it and approved it – that’s my job, because we’re all just visitors in her universe,” Rosenberg said.

Jake Abel Appears to Be the Frontrunner for Ian O'Shea

Actor Jake Abel is frontrunner to play one of the two male lead roles in The Host, the adaptation of the science fiction novel by Twilight author Stephenie Meyer that will star Saoirse Ronan and be directed by Andrew Niccol, who wrote the script. Negotiations are expected to begin soon. Abel was chosen from among a group of young thesps and he is negotiating for the role of Ian. The other male lead role of Jake is down to a small circle of actors including Liam Hemsworth (also a finalist to play Bruce Willis’s son in A Good Day To Die Hard), Max Irons, Kit Harington and Jai Courtney. Abel has starred alongside Ronan in The Lovely Bones, and his other recent credits include I Am Number Four and Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Open Road acquired the film for domestic distribution. Abel’s repped by UTA and Anthem Entertainment.

Saoirse Ronan Will Just Have to Deal

Saoirse Ronan has no idea how she will film 'The Host'.

The 17-year-old actress will take on the lead role in the movie about an alien race called Souls who take over Earth and its inhabitants but admitted filming her role - which will see a Soul named Wanderer and a human, Melanie vie for the same body- will be a challenge.

Speaking about the adaptation of 'Twilight Saga' writer Stephenie Meyer's book, Saoirse said: "We're doing 'The Host' at the start of next year. We're figuring out how to film it at the moment. Andrew Niccol the director knows what he's doing, I think it seems incredibly challenging but he knows exactly what to do so I feel very safe."

Saoirse also spoke about the expectations which come with being attached to a project written by the 'Twilight' scribe but said it would be impossible to prepare herself for the reaction from fans.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz at the UK premiere of 'In Time' at London's Curzon cinema on Monday (31.10.11): "I can see why Stephenie Meyer has such a huge following, she's a great writer. As for preparing myself for the huge level of fame like what the 'Twilight' cast have, I don't know if you could ever prepare yourself for something like that. If it happens I'll just have to deal with it."
